A hearing test is the first step in identifying hearing loss and the degree present. At Two Rivers Hearing, we offer diagnostic hearing tests to assess your hearing ability and determine the appropriate treatment plan. During the hearing exam you will sit in a soundproof booth. You will listen for a series of sounds at different volumes and frequencies (air and bone conduction testing. Our Audiologists will record your responses on an audiogram and use the information to determine the degree of hearing loss present. Our Audiologists will also perform speech reception and discrimination testing to determine how sound travels from your ear to your brain as well as testing to determine if you have wax impaction or fluid in your ears. These tests are necessary to develop a full picture of your ears and hearing ability.

Hearing Aid Evaluations

A hearing aid evaluation is the second step after a hearing exam to determine what hearing aid will be the right match for you. A case history will be taken to understand your day-to-day activities and what kind of environments you are in most. Using your answers and the results recorded on your audiogram, our audiologists will work with you to find a hearing aid that matches your unique needs.

Hearing Aid Fitting

Well fit and programmed hearing aids are a key component to better hearing. After you’ve selected your hearing aids, our hearing specialists will professionally fit them to your unique ear shape, so they sit comfortably yet securely in/around the ear, depending on the style you choose. We will then program the hearing aid software based on your degree of hearing loss. Programming hearing aids is more than just amplification, we want to ensure they can meet the demands of your everyday life.

We encourage you to come back into our office for follow-up appointments after your initial hearing aid fitting. This way we can fine-tune your devices to your exact needs.

VNG Balance Testing

Videonystagmography (VNG) testing is a diagnostic tool used to evaluate balance and dizziness issues by measuring involuntary eye movements, known as nystagmus.
